Close Protection Operatives support the safety of individuals who may face elevated risks because of their role, profile, work, travel or personal circumstances.
The qualification develops planning, teamwork, communication, conflict-management and practical protection skills. The course is 21 days for learners without an SIA Door Supervisor licence and 18 days for learners who already hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence. Learners must pass all required assessments before applying separately to the SIA.

Minimum Licence Age
You must be at least 18 to hold an SIA licence.
Door Supervisor Licence Status
The full course is 18 days for valid SIA Door Supervisor licence holders and 21 days for learners without the licence.
Level 3 First Aid
An accepted Level 3 first-aid qualification must be completed before Close Protection training begins.
Identity Documents
Bring original identification and any documents requested by the centre or awarding organisation.
English Language Skills
You need suitable reading, writing, speaking and listening skills for training and assessment.
