This 2-day SIA Door Supervisor Top-Up Refresher Course covers everything you need to stay compliant and renew your SIA licence. The SIA top-up refresher course was introduced in April 2021 as a way to ensure that licence holders remain compliant with the latest security industry standards and regulations set by the SIA; this covers things like terror threat awareness, vulnerability awareness and advanced physical intervention skills. ​ Who is this course for? This course is specifically tailored for door supervisors with expiring licences looking to renew their badge and stay working in the private security industry. This top-up course ensures you meet the new licensing conditions without having to take the full training again..

Important Prerequisite

It is mandatory for all applicants to have a valid Emergency First Aid at Work qualification (or equivalent) that is valid for at least one year before enrolling in this course.

Course Units

The course runs over 2 days and is divided into 2 comprehensive units:

Pre Course Self Study: FIRST AID COURSE & EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK

Unit 1: PRINCIPLES OF WORKING IN THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY (REFRESHER)

Unit 2: APPLICATION OF PHYSICAL INTERVENTION SKILLS IN THE PRIVATE SECURITY INDUSTRY (REFRESHER)

Documents Required for Registration

  • Be at least 18 years old and pass a basic English test.
  • Proof of ID: Passport, Driving Licence, or BRP card.
  • 2x Proof of Address: Bank Statement, Utility Bill, Payslip, GP Letter, NI Letter, or P60/P45 (no more than 3 months old).

Assessment Details

Each unit concludes with an assessment, including multiple-choice exams and practical observations.

Unit 1 Assessment

  • MCQ: 35 questions, 55 m, 70% pass mark

Unit 2 Assessment

  • MCQ: 30 questions, 45m, 80% pass mark
  • Practical: Scenario Observation, 100% pass mark
